Sand, at times, is fleeting, carried away like dust by a strong wind. Or it can be molded into a solid fortress, a foundation—as in this sandcastle love poem.
Sand is endless, an ocean unto itself. Yet to gather a single grain is nearly impossible. The more there is, the more it becomes—like love.
Our life is a sandcastle that we'll build together
For love is a foundation that won't wash away
Time is the measure of precious moments
Minute grains of sand that make up a day
Ours is not measured by the turning of an hourglass
Sands of time that come to an end
Nor the waves that wash over our castle
And the countless times we rebuild again
But rather by the ebb and flow of the ocean
The perpetual movement of the sea
Constant, continuous, always in motion
Like the love that exists between you and me

As endless as grains of sand, so are individual interpretations of poetry.
You may see remembrance here—a child playing in the sand. Or time as something that cannot be measured. Or love as continuous as waves.
Whatever you find in it becomes part of the poem.
This poem carries the nature of love as constant yet always moving, sand as infinite and timeless, and love as continuous as the ebb and flow of the sea.
It may resonate with those who understand that change and growth in a relationship is forward movement, while the bond between them never wavers.
